A pale blue-white chalice studded with raised pink and lavender bumps that catch the light like beads. The contrast between the cool base tissue and the warm bumps is what makes this one worth looking at up close, and it holds that color under standard reef lighting rather than only under heavy blues.
Chalices are slow, steady growers that encrust outward across rock before building up. Give this one low to medium light and gentle flow: too much of either will bleach the bumps out. Place it on the lower reef where it gets indirect light and is not blasted by a powerhead.
Keep it away from neighbors. Chalices send out long sweeper tentacles at night that will sting anything within reach. Leave several inches of clear space on all sides.
